Our person-centred approach focuses on dignity, independence and meaningful connection, ensuring residents feel supported and valued every day.
Our care teams have an extensive level of experience understanding individuals that have difficulty expressing their needs and know that those with dementia require much more than a ‘One-size-fits-all’ approach. Personal, health, social, emotional and spiritual care will be provided in the least restrictive environment possible while striving to normalise activity and offer ongoing opportunities to stay physically and cognitively engaged.

Residents at Sailors Bay have access to a range of programs designed to support physical health, emotional wellbeing and social connection. Lifestyle activities, gentle exercise and wellbeing programs encourage residents to remain active and engaged in daily life. These programs help residents maintain confidence, mobility and a strong sense of community within the residence.

Pathways Sailors Bay offers a secure and supportive Memory Support community designed specifically for residents living with dementia. Our highly trained dementia-specific nurses and lifestyle coordinators provide personalised care for individuals with varying types and stages of dementia.
The environment is designed to promote engagement while also offering quiet spaces for rest and reassurance. A unique feature of Sailors Bay is Baringa Village, a specially designed space with simulated shopfronts including a café, bakery and post office, helping residents reconnect with familiar daily routines and social experiences.

Pathways acknowledges that Voluntary Assisted Dying (VAD) is a deeply personal decision for eligible individuals under NSW legislation. While VAD is not directly provided within our residence, we respect residents’ rights to seek independent advice and support.
Our team remains committed to providing compassionate care and guidance while ensuring dignity and respect throughout every stage of a resident’s journey.

Sailors Bay offers respite care for individuals requiring short-term support following a hospital stay, during recovery or when family carers need time to rest. Guests receive the same high standard of accommodation, care and hospitality as our permanent residents. Respite stays can also provide an opportunity to experience life at Sailors Bay before making a longer-term care decision.

Our end of life care focuses on comfort, dignity and compassionate support for both residents and their families. The clinical team works closely with loved ones and healthcare professionals to ensure care reflects each resident’s wishes and priorities. We aim to provide a calm, supportive environment where residents feel respected and cared for during this important stage of life.

– Sample of activities
– Doctors list
– Fee summary table

This assessment is completed by an assessor from the ACAT team. You will require an ACAT assessment to determine if you are eligible for residential care or residential respite care. This assessment along with your pre admission meeting allows us to ascertain the best approach in relation to your individual care needs.
