Pathways acknowledges that Voluntary Assisted Dying (VAD) is a personal choice for eligible individuals under NSW legislation. While VAD is not directly provided within our residence, we respect residents’ rights to seek independent advice and support. Our team remains committed to providing compassionate care and dignity throughout every stage of a resident’s journey.

Killara Gardens offers respite care for individuals requiring temporary support following a hospital stay, during recovery or when family carers need time to rest. Guests receive the same high standard of care, accommodation and hospitality as permanent residents. Respite stays can also provide an opportunity to experience life at Killara Gardens before making a longer-term care decision.

Our end of life care focuses on comfort, dignity and compassionate support for both residents and their families. The clinical team works closely with loved ones and healthcare professionals to ensure care reflects each resident’s wishes and priorities. We aim to provide a calm and supportive environment during this important stage of life.

During your appointment, an enquiry pack including the following information will be presented:
– Facility overview
– Sample of activities
– Doctors list
– Fee summary table

This assessment is completed by an assessor from the ACAT team. You will require an ACAT assessment to determine if you are eligible for residential care or residential respite care. This assessment along with your pre admission meeting allows us to ascertain the best approach in relation to your individual care needs.
